Waiting is more than standing still.

Waiting is a part of life we all know.

We wait for apologies that may never come, for the courage to take the next step, for silence to turn into words, and for the pain to ease, even if just a little.

We wait for answers to questions we’re afraid to ask, for the right time to speak our hearts, for a feeling of home in unfamiliar places, and for the day we’re finally able to let go.

And, ultimately, we wait for the hope that everything will one day make sense.

As Rainer Maria Rilke once said, “Patience is everything“.

Waiting isn’t about counting the seconds or days.

It’s about learning to let go of control and finding peace in the unknown. In those moments, we learn to trust life’s timing.

Sometimes, though, waiting can feel like suffering. Paulo Coelho captured it perfectly: “Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worst kind of suffering.”

That tug-of-war between holding on and letting go reveals our truest desires.

It forces us to ask ourselves: Is this worth it?

Waiting, at its core, is a reminder to trust—in timing, in ourselves.

It teaches us that sometimes, the best things unfold slowly (one small moment at a time).

In the end, waiting is more than standing still.
