A Fallen Giant that Broke …

When I first came across the question;

 If a tree falls in a forest but there’s nobody around to hear it, did it make a sound?”

I paused for a few seconds.

Something about it felt more emotional than scientific.

I don’ know why.

And here’s the answer I came up with:

Yes, it does make a sound—but not just one. It makes two.

The first sound is the one you’d expect—the crash of the tree meeting the ground, echoing through the empty forest.

But the second sound? That’s the sound of grief.

Grief that nobody was there to hear it, to notice it, to acknowledge it.

It’s kind of like us, isn’t it?

We all want to be seen, to be heard, to matter.

And when no one’s listening, the silence feels heavier than the sound itself.

So, yes, the tree made a sound. Twice. And both matter. 🌳
